ABOUT US
Welcome to the Genesee Country Antique Dealers Association (GCADA) Website.
2021 marks the 73rd year of the Genesee Country Antique Dealers Association. In 1948, a few Rochester, New York antique dealers formed a nonprofit association of well-known and respected collectors and sellers of 17th and 18th-century pieces of furniture, wall hangings, textiles, ceramics, photographic items, and primitives. Over the last 71 years the Association, guided by a Constitution and By-Laws, Board of Directors, and Officers, has thrived to our present-day membership of 84. Today our membership encompasses many areas of the USA, as well as, Canada, which offer a much larger selection of quality antiques and collectibles, as well as related services. It is the mission of GCADA to require its members to meet a high standard of ethics and integrity in order to best serve collectors and purchasers of antique items and services. GCADA sponsors educational and cultural events on antiques that are open to the public. Check the “Events Calendar” for upcoming lectures. Another annual mission of GCADA, with proceeds from its antique shows, is to offer grants to area museums and historical societies. GCADA hosts two antique shows each year where members display their finest wares for the public. These shows and sales are organized and managed by members of the Genesee Country Antique Dealers Association. Also, offered for our younger patrons, is a treasure hunt to peak their interest in antiques.
The March show (March 16 & 17, 2019), at Nazareth College, Pittsford, New York, has been existing for 44 years and is considered Western New York’s Premier show and sale. Our 2019 Summer show, June 15, is beginning its' third year at Greater Canandaigua Civic Center, Canandaigua, New York. At both shows, dealers offer a broad array of 18th, 19th, and early 20th century antiques and collectibles. The items include Period, Formal and Country Furniture, Folk Art, Redware, Stoneware, Treenware, Textiles, Porcelains, Art Glass, Cut Glass, China, Clocks, Early and Victorian Lighting, Duck Decoys, Graniteware, Historical Memorabilia of Military Events, Metal Wares, Jewelry, Native American Art, Asian Art, Maps, Old Books, Oriental Rugs, Historic Paper and Ephemera, Prints, Paintings, Silver, Quilts, Bottles, Advertising Items, Vintage clothing, purses and much more.
There is always something of special interest to be found at our antique shows whether it be to add to a collection or to stimulate interest in starting a collection.
