Missouri Plain Folk
Large running horse weathervane from Connecticut. Late 19th or early 20th century. Much like a jigsaw puzzle, this majestic horse is made from 6 different pieces of sheet iron put together creating the whole. Construction adds to its folky appearance. The silhouette is reinforced with iron rod on one side further adding to the weight and stability of the piece. The weathervane measures 27” end to end and stands just over 23” to the ears as shown on its contemporary iron stand.
