Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute Little 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "New York Stoneware Co., Fort Edward, N.Y.."

This company was in production in Fort Edward, New York from 1859-1885.

This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Freehand Cobalt Bluebird on a Branch Decoration.  The decoration was clearly executed by a skilled hand using a slip cup.  The bird is an unusual variation of the typical bird on this company's stoneware.  Stands 11 1/2" tall.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  The chip on the spout is in the making and glazed over.

If you like small jugs with birds, this is a very clean example.
