19th century firkin in original dry grey paint.  It is a larger piece standing 11 3/4" tall.  Diameter is 11 3/4" across the lid expanding to 12 1/2" at the base.  This is a solid staved bucket constructed with copper brad nails and a single copper staple at the end of each tapered finger.  The firkin was found in New England and remains in original sturdy condition.  It has presence on its own, and is also a great size for using near the bottom of a stack.
