Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "C. Hart & Son, Sherburne."

This is the stamp of Charles Hart and his son, Nahum, who potted in Sherburne, N.Y. with this stamp from 1866-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 74-75).

This beauty features a large pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Large Plow Flower So Named for its Resemblance to a Horse-Drawn Plow. The flower is very large, filling the entire front of the crock with bright and shiny cobalt blue-- about as bright and shiny as possible!  Measures 12" tall and 12" wide across the top.

Excellent Condition.  Four narrow chips around the inside of the rim (1/4" to 1/2"), and two dime-size stains from use.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Exceptionally clean glaze.  Slightly convex on the bottom in one spot in the making, but sits level.
